My best recipe for sweet and classic vegan burger buns.
This dough gets so crispy, delicious and smells amazing. The result of these crispy vegan burger buns went really good! The recipe takes 1-2 hours to make, which is necessary to know before you begin. But I promise you, the waiting time is all worth it.
That being said you can easily make the dough a day before, keep in the fridge overnight and warm the buns a day after. I made my dough on a kitchen machine because of the good result.
But if you don’t have one you can mix with a tablespoon or by hands. Just remember to brush the buns with melted coconut oil and add sesame seeds on top. Bake at 200°c for about 15-16 minutes until the buns gets a golden color. Cool down before eating. with sesame seeds on top. Vegan burger buns - Crispy, delicious and smells amazing, the result of these crispy burger buns went really good. Go find the full recipe here.
Ingredients
- 2,5 cup of water
- 25 g fresh organic yeast
- 50 g brown sugar (can be omitted)
- 850 g organic flour
- 15 g sea salt
- Toppings: 2 tablespoon coconut oil and 3 tablespoon of sesame seeds
Instructions
Start by mixing the water with the yeast. Add sugar, flour (just half of it), salt and mix at highest in 5-6 minutes (in a high powered mixer) until the dough is sticky and coherent. Add the rest of the flour carefully while mixing. Let the dough rest for about 1 hour in the mixing bowl covered with a dishtowel.
Turn on the oven at 200°c. Put the dough out on the table and turn it around as little as possible.
Cut the dough in two and form each part in 6 pieces (my buns were a little big but there's dough enough for 7 pieces). Put on the baking tray with baking paper and let it rest for about 30 minutes again while the oven is heating. (If your baking tray doesn't fit 10-12 pieces, start by baking half of the buns)
Press the buns down a little bit on the baking tray, so you get the perfect burger bun size. Brush with melted coconut oil and add sesame seeds on top.
Bake at 200°c for about 15-16 minutes until the buns gets a golden color. Cool down before eating.
